Emerging Global Advisors management team is comprised of seasoned financial services veterans who are focused on emerging markets.
Marten Hoekstra joined Emerging Global Advisors in 2011. Prior to joining EGA, he was CEO of UBS Wealth Management Americas and a member of the Group Executive Board. Mr. Hoekstra worked 26 years at UBS, including the predecessor firm, PaineWebber. After 2001, he held various management roles in Zurich and the United States on the executive committee of the firm's Global Wealth Management & Business Banking unit, including Deputy CEO. He became a member of UBS' Group Managing Board in July 2002 while serving as Head of Market Strategy and Development for UBS' wealth management businesses outside of North America. Mr. Hoekstra is a prior Director of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association and a graduate of the University of North Dakota as well as the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Robert Holderith founded Emerging Global Advisors in September 2008 and currently serves as the Firm's lead portfolio manager. He previously held executive positions at ProFund Advisors, lastly as Managing Director, Institutional Sales and Investment Analytics serving on the company's ETF Steering, Product Development, Strategic and Tactical Distribution, and Product Launch teams. Earlier, he spent nine years at UBS, where he led a variety of product, asset management, and senior sales initiatives. As a senior member of UBS' wealth management team, he helped develop the firm's first ETF models and an advisory ETF Portfolio Management platform. He has been using ETF products, modeling ETF portfolios, and has developed numerous ETF-based business models since 2000.

Susan Ciccarone joined Emerging Global Advisors in August 2012 as Chief Financial Officer and became Chief Operating Officer (COO) in April 2014. Ms. Ciccarone is responsible for financial reporting, strategic planning, operational risk management, human resources and investor relations for EGA. She was previously a Managing Director in Goldman Sachs' Financial Institutions Group, focused on mergers and acquisitions and capital raising for financial institutions, and prior to that a senior banker in UBS' Financial Institutions Group. Earlier in her career, she was a senior auditor in Ernst and Young's hedge fund practice and a manager in the Derivative Products Finance Group at Morgan Stanley. Ms. Ciccarone is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Villanova University with a B.S. in Accountancy, and a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School's Master's of Business Administration program.
Jay McAndrew oversees all of Emerging Global Advisors' sales activities. Prior to joining EGA in 2010, Mr. McAndrew was Vice President at AllianceBernstein, where he helped develop the firm's separately managed accounts, mutual funds and 529 college savings businesses in metro New York City. He previously served as the Regional Managed Account Director for AllianceBernstein's Northeast U.S. region, working with the firm's separate account offerings. Mr. McAndrew worked for several years at UBS, serving in various client-facing roles that specialized in separately managed accounts, mutual funds, ETFs and alternative investments.

Edward Kerschner joined Emerging Global Advisors in 2013 and is responsible for helping wealth managers understand developing market investment themes. Mr. Kerschner joins EGA with 35 years of experience in the securities industry across a number of strategy roles, including Chief Investment Strategist and Chairman of the Investment Policy Committee at PaineWebber, Chief Global Strategist for UBS Investment Research, Chief Investment Officer for Citi Investment Research and the Chief Investment Strategist for Citi Global Wealth Management. After leaving Citi, he continued as a Senior Strategy Consultant to Morgan Stanley Smith Barney and a member of the Morgan Stanley Smith Barney Global Investment Committee through 2012. Since 2001, Mr. Kerschner has been an Adjunct Professor of Finance at the New York University Graduate School of Business Administration. He received a B.S. degree from the New York University School of Engineering and Science and an M.B.A. degree from the New York University Graduate School of Business Administration, and is a member of the CFA Institute.

Nicholas Smithie is responsible for Emerging Global Advisors' emerging market investment strategy. His team provides insight for use in investment implementation, product development, portfolio management and client engagement. Prior to joining EGA in 2013, Mr. Smithie was UBS Investment Bank's Senior Emerging Market Equity Strategist and a Managing Director. He developed strategic model portfolios for global long-only and hedge fund clients, and for the creation of structured products. He previously spent twelve years at MFS Investment Management, where he held several portfolio manager roles, including lead portfolio manager of the MFS Emerging Markets Equity Fund. Mr. Smithie began his career as a Chartered Accountant at Coopers & Lybrand. He is a graduate of Brasenose College at Oxford University, holding a Masters of Arts in Jurisprudence as well as a member of the CFA Institute.

Maya Teufel joined Emerging Global Advisors in November 2013. Maya Teufel oversees the legal and regulatory affairs of Emerging Global Advisors. Prior to joining EGA, Ms. Teufel was Vice President and Corporate Counsel at Jennison Associates LLC, where she supported all aspects of the firm's equity and fixed income investment management services to retail and institutional clients, such as registered investment companies, pension plans, public plans, insurance separate accounts, bank trust commingled funds and wrap fee accounts. She has 15 years of experience in the financial services industry, including Associate in Sullivan & Cromwell's M&A and General Practice Groups where she represented issuers, underwriters and purchasers in connection with mergers, acquisitions, asset sales and public and private offerings of debt and equity securities. Ms. Teufel holds a J.D. from Albany Law School of Union University and a B.A. in Political Science and International Relations from the American University in Bulgaria.
Marc Zeitoun joined Emerging Global Advisors in 2013 and oversees the firm's product management, development, and marketing activities. Prior to joining EGA, Mr. Zeitoun spent five years as the Head of Intermediary Distribution for Guggenheim Investments/Rydex, where he led the firm's ETF, mutual funds, separately managed accounts and variable insurance trust distribution efforts. Earlier in his career, he spent eight years at UBS, serving as Executive Director for investment solutions and fee-based platforms, expanding the firm's wealth management advisory business. Mr. Zeitoun began his financial services career at Chase Investment Services in 1994. He is a graduate of Vassar College with a B.A. in History and of Columbia University's School of International Affairs with an M.I.A. in International Business & Finance. He is a member of the CFA Institute and the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA).
